Therapeutic Yoga Intensive

The purpose of the Therapeutic Yoga Intensive is two-fold:

  • for you to experience a depth of ease that you didn't feel was quite possible before.
  • to learn the basics of working with therapeutic yoga "Functional Synergy style" so that after 5 days you can get back into your teaching and apply what you have learned.

These 5 days are transformative, and even the most skeptical yoga teachers who have applied these techniques have been simply amazed with the results. The key is to understand how a body moves and the relationship between body movement, lack of movement, breath and emotional states. When you understand and can apply these concepts, and you'll be able to help many, many people.

Bonus: During the training you will receive both a manual and a bundle of yoga props so you can integrate these concepts immediately into your teaching.

Pre-Requisite: 12 hours of training with me are required. The Kinesiology of Yoga workshop fulfills this requirement.

Therapeutic Yoga Intensive is being offered in Calgary in April 2013 and in Toronto in September 2013. To check out the dates, prices and details - go to www.functionalsynergy.com/shop/trainings.

What Yogis are Saying:

"So, I've just returned from my client with Parkinsons. She's been quite depressed about how her leg is starting to drag. Today, after a while doing stuff on her back, I got her up and asked her to walk around and tell me how she felt. 'Oh Gillian,' she said after a couple of minutes. ‚ 'Can you see, my leg's not dragging nearly as much!' What is this stuff? Magic?" ~Gillian S.

"I have had back pain for 2 years. You have given me hope. Thank you." Cathy, Calgary

"Susi doesn't give you simple answers, as in here are the 3 ways to handle SI joint pain. Instead, she teaches you how to think, how to assess a client, and the steps to take to start treatment". ~ Sara, Duluth, MN

"After each training with Susi, my teaching evolves and my personal practice evolves. I gain more clarity and insight about the body, and how it functions every time I complete a training. I also leave with a greater sense of direction as to where/how I want to teach yoga in my studio and also I gain a greater sense of direction in my personal life. The trainings remind me of why I do what I do and how to take it to the next level." ~Daena, Canmore, AB

"Your therapeutic yoga training added a new dimension to my own practice as well as my knowledge base for helping others find ease and balance in their own body and life. I have been to many trainings and workshops but nothing that compares to this. Thank you!" ~Mary K, Wisconsin.

"I did not come away with a neat set of rules telling me exactly what to do, no absolutes. What I got was an experience in how to honestly feel what is happening within my own body, see what is happening in another person's body, think clearly about how to improve movement, to ease pain, and discomfort and trust the wisdom and instincts of the body. Susi is a person of highest integrity; she perfectly embodies her teaching."~Joe L, Duluth, MN

"I love how Susi can bring us to awareness in such a clear and accessible way."~Theresa E, Wisconsin

"Susi's teaching style very much mirrors her writing style. Always experiential and explorative, challenging the participants to be actively engaged in the learning process. She is always a great resource for ideas that will ultimately benefit your clients."~Carolyn L, Missouri

"I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know how much I enjoyed all the training I did with you last week. All the participants had so much to offer by way of experiences and knowledge, and your teaching style is so spot on! I not only learned how to assess and plan strategies for physical problems needing yoga therapy, I learned a lot about myself and my own body. Your low-key, pragmatic style works well for me and the philosophy makes so much sense."
