What if I told you that you could achieve greater strength, greater fitness, and become faster by working "less hard"? Clients of mine who have mastered the art of breathing, movement and of being with their discomfort report they are moving better, faster and enjoying their active experience much more. They also notice their recovery time has decreased.
Most people think that pain=gain; and that to succeed you must drive your body, "tear at your muscles", and go to the edge, pushing, pushing and pushing. The reality is that with a pain=gain mindset you'll tend toward more tension, more gripping and greater strain which can lead to injury, fatigue or lack of enjoyment.
As a yogi athlete, you'll learn how to move deliberately, breathe effectively and allow the experience unfold. You'll develop a mastery with your body and your mind that will not only improve your workout and your performance, it will improve your overall life.
Typical clients:
There are 2 segments of clients who are attracted to the yogi athlete program.
- The first are people who are currently in training for an event, and they are feeling themselves getting tighter. They aren’t injured, but they inherently know they could be performing better.
- The second are people who initially worked with me because they were in pain. They may have been athletes in their past, or they got injured in their athletic endeavours, and now they are out of pain they want to return to their athletic lifestyles.
Both groups understand that pain is subjective. However, when we can distinguish between the “muscle tearing pain” of overtraining or injury and the discomfort necessary for strengthening muscles, we have a greater awareness of what our bodies need for improved strength, flexibility and cardiovascular ability.
The Yogi Athlete program can help you develop this ability.
