I love the clarity of Susi’s applied Anatomy...

I continue to be amazed at the wealth of information in this book! I continue to get emails about other publications Susi publishes and I eventually want to add all of them to my resource library!
Tamara Rounds - Yoga Journal Review October 2005

The word alone may conjure up musty textbooks and clinical illustrations, but anatomy can be really useful when you’re trying to deepen your understanding of yoga poses. Thankfully, Susi Hately Aldous makes anatomy accessible with clear drawings of muscles, compelling graphic design, and a sprinkling of inspirational quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh and others.

If you are new to anatomy, you’ll learn the most from the first three chapters, which give clear descriptions of the various systems in the body and the terminology and principles of human movement. The subsequent chapters focus on different categories of poses – standing, inversions, twists, back bends and forward bends – and offer basic muscle actions, alignment principles, and safety tips for each.

From October 2005, Yoga Journal by Julie Gudmestad
Susi’s presentation is simple to understand and very clear . . . This is a great book and will be helpful for teachers and serious students . . . I think Anatomy and Asana should be on required reading lists for yoga teacher training programs. It has tremendous value as an anatomy primer!
