Yoga for Cancer Survivors: Yoga Teacher Training
Continuing Education
This is an invitation to the Yoga for Cancer Survivors Training program at the University of Calgary led by Susi Hately Aldous. This 4 day teacher training program is for yoga teachers who would like to run Yoga for Cancer Survivor sessions in their home town, and/or for yoga teachers who want to expand their personal and professional development.
Back in 2001, Susi teamed up with Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed to create the Yoga for Cancer Survivors Program. Over 6 years, the program showed benefits including improved quality of life, improved sleep, less fatigue, better balance, strength and cardiovascular ability. In 2005, Susi trained one other teacher to lead the program and, in 2007 the program was further expanded. There are now 8 yoga teachers leading the program at 6 different sites in Calgary. The benefits remain the same – better quality of life, improved sleep, less fatigue and better balance, strength and cardiovascular ability.
The University is wanting to further expand the program, and is hosting the Yoga for Cancer Survivors Teacher Training Program this coming May in Calgary. If you would like to register for the program please contact Susi at Functional Synergy – 403-229-2617, by email or register directly online
