Anatomy for Yoga Therapists:
Exploring and Understanding the
Biomechanics of Healing

We know that what we learned in 200 and 500 hour teacher trainings helps a lot of people, and yet there is a significant number of people for whom what we learned doesn’t work – often the yoga teacher isn’t exactly sure why, yet they know there is a gap.

To resolve this gap you have learned protocols and templates for various conditions like back pain, sciatica and SI joint issues, and you have gained knowledge about workarounds so that people with physical limitations can still be part of class.

But something is niggling at you. Not enough of your students are getting better and deep in your core you know they could. You see them move and you can see that something is not quite right but are not able to articulate it.

The Anatomy for Yoga Therapists Program is designed to address this gap. It is designed for yoga teachers, yoga therapists and health care professionals who use yoga with their patients.

You work with people therapeutically and:

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”If you are someone who:” _builder_version=”3.12.2″ custom_padding=”0px||0px|”]

  • you are passionate about helping others reduce pain and other symptoms like headaches, migraines and auto-immune symptoms
  • you see the challenges your clients face but still struggle with how to help them heal.
  • you’d like to not feel so consumed by doubt
  • you want to “see under the skin”

You want to be able to see compensations:

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”You want to:” _builder_version=”3.12.2″ custom_padding=”0px||0px|”]

  • you want to see and know what to do with the compensatory patterns your clients use
  • you want to develop a better “eye” so that you can see more clearly what the actual problem is – whether in yourself or your clients
  • you want to learn how to work with movement to resolve the compensatory patterns.

“It has truly made a difference in my own practice as well as helping others...”

I wanted to let you know I met with two clients yesterday for private sessions, and they just love the work I’m doing with them.  They keep telling me how amazed they are at the small amount of movement that’s really available to them with these different explorations, and they are feeling better and better. I want to thank you for all of the wonderful teachings you have shared.  It has truly made a difference in my own body and practice as well as helping others. I am grateful to have found you 🙂  ~ Cathy

“I will be much more able to help people…”

Susi, I LOVED this course. Thanks so much….I feel like an excited child going to Disney!! I just know I will be much more able to help people (and myself) with awareness. It is complex in it’s simplicity. ~ Tracy

“It makes sense…even to my Type A self.”

I believe these lessons and the 8 principles have answered the question (s) that I had before regarding..”so I have relaxed my nervous system…now what?” :). Thank you. it’s like the years of physiology exercises that I had been given. I had done them, but “got bored” with them. I am realizing now that building stamina through ease of ROM is the key. There is a clearer focus for me to work with. It makes sense …even to my type A self who is surrendering and allowing for the subtle yet powerful openings. ~ Shannon

“…Rewarding when you see a light come on…”

I am really enjoying and excited by what you are teaching. It is interesting to peel the movements right back and try to get students ( and me) to become aware of their range of movement and holding patterns. Challenging, especially for those that have been practising yoga for years, but rewarding when you see a light come on and they are there in their bodies, relaxed and interested. I teach small classes in my home and work with a lot of strong, physically active men and women, ( again myself included) working on bringing them to a place where they breathe and soften and release and move, rather than grunt and groan and push, is a shift, but as I see the change in me it is easier to “teach” that. I am hoping to make the last webinar live, but being in New Zealand the time difference doesn’t always work. I am hoping to come do a course with you sometime in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in such a straightforward achievable manner. ~ Elizabeth

Anatomy for Yoga Therapists: Exploring and Understanding the Biomechanics of Healing

There comes a time in all of our yoga training when we realize there is a gap. We know that what we learned in 200 and 500 hour teacher trainings helps a lot of people, and yet there is a significant number of people for whom what we learned doesn’t work – often the yoga teacher isn’t exactly sure why, yet they know there is a gap.

If you are someone who:

  • works therapeutically with your clients using yoga
  • you are passionate about helping others reduce pain and other symptoms like headaches, migraines and auto-immune symptoms
  • sees the challenges your clients face but still struggle with how to help the person heal. You’d like to not feel so consumed by doubt

You want to:

  • have more confidence in applying anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics
  • increase personal awareness so you can see your own compensatory movement patterns with greater clarity and move towards more functional movement
  • develop a better “eye” so that I can see more clearly what the actual problem is – whether in yourself or your clients
  • how to work with movement to resolve the compensatory patterns.

Here is a sampling of video lessons you will watch:

Jon – I will be adding some clips from the course here as well as a screen shot of some of hte quesion and answers.

What you will get the best of both worlds–you get recorded video which you can stop and rewind as you please, but you also get live webinars where I will address ALL of your questions, comments, and concerns. Yes, I encourage you to bring your toughest issues, which we will work through together.

  • 4 weeks of online training with me as your teacher
  • 3 hours of pre-recorded video broken into edible chunks
  • 4-1 hour live weekly webinars to help deepen the concepts and see more compensatory movement patterns
