The Best Yummy Gummies

A couple of students, Paleena and Margot, introduced me to Great Lakes Gelatin many months ago. I bought a can, and it, quite literally sat on my shelf. I didn’t just want to stir into water and gulp it back . . . I wanted to make “food” – whether as a snack, a dessert or a smoothie.

After seeing the can stare at me each day, I decided last month, to research recipes. I have found a few that I love and are super easy. Stay tuned, they will show up in the coming weeks.

This particular gummy recipe is great because there is no added sugar of any kind. It’s super simple and I use silicon molds to make really cute hearts… lots of love going into the gummies, and going into my belly.

Recipe notes: I use blueberries most of the time because I love them so much. I ran out of lemons so combined peaches and blueberries, added some water, and it worked. I put the mold into the freezer for about 30 minutes, voila.

What I have listed below is the original recipe.

2/3 cup Lemon Juice, organic
1 cup Blueberries, fresh and organic
4 Tbsp Beef, Great Lakes brand Unflavored Gelatin

Place the lemon juice and blueberries in a medium sized saucepan, heat them so the blueberries become plumb. Transfer to a blender, blending until smooth. Take off the top to cool slightly (just slightly), then add gelatin and give the blender another spin so the gelatin blends in smoothly.

Pour into molds – I use silicon molds because they are so easy to work with. Let set in fridge for about an hour, or in your freezer for less than 30 min.
