Welcome to the Diastasis and Post Partum Online Course Registration. Changing the paradigm of postpartum recovery.

If you have been told that diastasis recti can’t be healed, that pregnancy and delivery wrecks your body and there is no hope for recovery. . . . I have news for you. Recovery is possible. It is all how you do it.

This 2 hour Online Program is designed to teach you about diastasis recovery, how movement can help and hinder, where breath fits in and how to find the support you need.

You will learn:

  1. The Reality and Myths of Post Partum and Diastasis Recovery. There are so many myths!!
  2. How Reducing Compensation is SOOOO Vital!! Bracing, gripping, finding sneaky ways to move – Susi will show you common compensatory strategies so you can see and feel them.
  3. It’s More Than the Abdomen, It is More Than the Gap – Yes, there is a gap. . .Yes, abdominal control and coordination is so important. And, to get there we need to address the role of the butt muscles, the suppleness of the rib cage, the function of the shoulders and hips, the role of the neck, the feet and the power of the breath.
  4. Know Which Exercises and Yoga Movements to Choose and When. And, why navasana (Boat Pose), plank, abdominal crunches are NOT the place to begin.
  5. When To Know When You are Doing Too Much. This is soooo critical to sustainable progress and improvement.
  6. How and When to Choose a Practitioner to Help You. Where to find a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist (and do you even need one?).
  7. What About All Those Online Programs That Promote Flat Abs? There are many online programs that can help you to recover – some are good, and some are borderline. How to choose what is right for you, or if you are teacher, how do you recommend one for your students?

Looking forward to seeing you online!

Meet Susi

Susi Hately is one of the industry’s top yoga therapists and trainers. As a young student of yoga, she began to combine the ancient practices of yoga with her BSc. Kinesiology at a Vancouver pain clinic. When she continued to encounter individuals, including yoga instructors, who accepted that their pain was “normal”, she began to explore how yoga was being taught and practiced. By designing therapy programs that utilized sound anatomical principles of kinesiology with the time honored practices of gentle yoga she enabled people to find pain relief, feel good, and rediscover vitality in their lives.

Trained in Canada and in India, Susi began teaching yoga in 1999. She is the owner and principal instructor of Functional Synergy Inc., through which she offers an IAYT accredited Yoga Therapy Certification program where she teaches yoga teachers her unique approach for pain management and pain relief. Clients and instructors alike have responded positively to her straightforward, knowledgeable, caring manner that encourages them to understand their bodies and the language it is speaking. With nurturing and discipline, she teaches and motivates.

Internationally renowned, Susi is a yogi, therapist, educator, speaker and author who is changing the way that pain is understood and the manner in which yoga is delivered. In doing so, she guides and inspires a global community of health practitioners, therapists, researchers, yoga and therapeutic movement instructors.

She is the author of several best selling yoga therapy books and videos Her programs have been studied at the University of Calgary and her work has set a new standard not only in yoga therapy, but in functional movement therapy and helping people prepare for and recover from surgeries, navigate chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus, as well as manage ongoing treatment protocols including radiation and chemotherapy.

In March 2017, she gave birth to her twins, Samantha and Lewis. With this Post Partum Recovery Program she shares the science, biomechanics, and kinesiology of the recovery process, as well as the thoughtful insight and understanding of someone who has been through the process.

You too can recover from pregnancy and delivery. It is possible.
