Quite simply, this is an Experts Series whose time has come. The core and pelvic floor are probably in the top five of misunderstood concepts in health and wellness. I have many female clients who are 10 years postpartum, and they are, to put it mildly, p*ssed off that no one told them how to rehab themselves post partum. They are now leaking, have prolapses, diastases that never healed. . . . which are leading or related to other problems. I have other clients who are perimenopausal or menopausal and are experiencing the added impact of hormonal shifts and changes which adds another whole layer to pelvic health and wellbeing.
The good news is that people are starting to talk about these things, in both humorous and serious ways – hormonal changes, prolapses, dry vaginas, painful or unfulfilling sex post-partum, diastases, leakage – and better information is becoming available. There is now an opening to really make a difference in women’s wellbeing, before getting pregnant, during pregnacy, postnatally and beyond.
Change IS possible if we just do the things the body needs.
The Female Core and Pelvic Floor Experts Series brings together some of the smartest minds and compassionate hearts, who also have a great ability to synthesize information and teach. They each have decades of experience working with women who have had all sorts of issues during pregnancy and post-partum – some 6 months post-partum, others 10-20 years post-partum – as well working with women who are now navigating menopause and post menopause. I have interviewed each expert, and have pulled out the gems and pearls of what they know. We discuss the latest research, what works clinically, in the yoga studio, in the gym, on the trampoline and more!
While this Expert Series about women, and focused solely on women’s core and pelvic health, everyone is welcome to attend – male, female, health professional, non-health professional. My focus is to simply bring you the very best information that is available for you to integrate into your practice, workouts, with your clients, students, or patients.
Expert Series Format:
- All sessions are pre-recorded interviews with me.
- You will be able to download all the material in video, audio and written transcript.
Experts, Their Topics and Bios (and what I love about each of them and why they were chosen):
Lorrie Maffey – More than A Gap: Diastasis Recti, Core Stability, Function and Load Transfer Lorrie is a physiotherapist like none other. Brilliant in how she sees a body, explains and teaches to others, she is an out of the box thinker and teacher. When I bring Lorrie into my trainings the participants are wow’ed. She is terrific at demonstrating that there is no one cue to engage or connect with the pelvic floor. As for her background, the number of speaking engagements she has led, chapters, journals and reports she has written, as well as her credentials are far too numerous to list. Here are a few BMRPT, M.Phty, Dip Manip PT, Medical Acupuncture Certification, GunnIMS.

Jane Clapp – You are Not Broken. Jane will bring the important dialogue of trauma to this conference. Whether it is childbirth related, or grief that can sometimes come when the fertility years are coming to a close (ie menopause), or any of the other many traumas that can have lasting mental-emotional impact on a woman’s psyche, these will have an impact. So much so that no matter what physical exercise we may do, if these traumas aren’t acknowledged the physical gains can be minimal, very slow or non-existent. Jane brings levity to this very important topic. You can visit her at janeclapp.com
