Did you know that in 2019, the World Health Organization labeled burnout as an official disease?

If you’ve ever found yourself without the energy you need to get things done, or the downtime necessary to recharge your batteries this may not come as a surprise.

You know that being constantly tired all the time can have a serious negative effect on your nervous system and physical and mental health – it reduces creativity, productivity, zest for living and can lead depression or emotional collapse.


But how do you get out of it?

Ever since the World Health Organization announcement, a number of “Burnout Experts” have been writing about how necessary it is to ask for support.

That’s an excellent first step... but it implies a few things:

2. You know how to ask for it

3. You know that you need it

4. You know what KIND of support you need

From my 30 years of experience working one-on-one with burned out entrepreneurs, executives, and health professionals, I have seen how most people who are constantly tired, strained or stressed out don’t know any of those things.

… Because the truth is, no person is an island and we ALL need the support of others if we want to achieve our goals and succeed in life.

But even when you realize that you need support, there’s still the hurdle of figuring out who to ask for it, and how. 

And if you do build up your courage and ask for the help you need there’s always the chance that the person might say “no,” leaving you feeling rejected and unwilling to ask for help from anyone else.  

Or the person says yes, but isn’t able to give you the support you really need. And so you find yourself dealing with more chaos than you had before.
